Keeping your UGGs clean can be tricky - after all, the boots are so versatile you end up wearing them for anything from a school run to a dog walk. So how should you keep them clean?

Luckily, our experts here at Good Housekeeping are able to help, with their tips on how to get stains out of UGGS and clean the suede with home products.

The best way to clean UGG boots

Verity Mann, Head of Testing at the Good Housekeeping Institute advises that you should safeguard new UGGs to prevent stains. "Treat new shoes with a protective suede spray' she recommends.

"When you do need to clean your UGG boots, do so with a nailbrush and soapy water," she says. "Rinse and blot dry. If shoes get wet, allow them to dry naturally, then use a suede brush to remove dust and raise the pile."

If that all sounds like hard work, many dry cleaners also offer sheepskin boot-cleaning services - expect to pay around £25 to have them rejuvenated.

Can I put UGG boots in the dryer?

While it may be tempting to use your washing machine or dryer to give your UGGs a deep clean at home, it's not advised. The official UGG stance is to never put your boots in the washing machine or take them to the dry cleaner.
